Good news! pt Health now offers virtual physiotherapy, giving you the opportunity to receive treatment from the comfort of your own home through video conference technology.
Wondering how virtual physiotherapy works? In this Spotlight, we’ll share some first hand information from one of our physiotherapists with you.
Terelle Coe, Clinic Team Manager and Physiotherapist at Bowmanville Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Centre – pt Health has been offering virtual physiotherapy here for the past few weeks.
Today, we’re talking to Terelle about her experience with this service so far.
Q: Tell us about the type of treatments you can provide through virtual physiotherapy.
A: I am able to properly assess and treat all types of musculoskeletal injuries, including those sustained in motor vehicle injuries and in workplace injuries. I’ve been able to treat everything from an acute neck strain to an acute meniscus tear in the knee.
A: All of the patients that I have treated have been very happy with the care received and are truly appreciating the one on one attention for 30 mins of an experienced clinician. All satisfied patients thus far!
Q: Can you share your favourite story of how you helped a patient with virtual care?
A: I had a telephone assessment with a patient last week who had an acute neck strain, based on our conversation I could readily identify the process behind his injury and what muscles were involved.
As I began providing him exercises he exclaimed – “you hit the nail right on the head, that’s the exact muscle that has been causing all of this pain!”
We then prescribed further exercises and had a follow up visit today and he is 75% improved after 2 virtual care sessions!
