Low Back Pain: In a 2007 study, 75 Canada Post workers with low back pain were randomly assigned to a 12 week protocol of treatment consisting of either a) Naturopathic care or b) standard physiotherapy. The primary outcome measure was low back pain, with secondary measures including quality of life, low back range of motion, weight loss, and body mass index.

At the end of the trial, participants receiving Naturopathic care reported significantly less low back pain than those receiving standard physiotherapy. The group receiving naturopathic care also experienced significant improvement in all secondary outcomes. The authors concluded that naturopathic care provided significantly greater improvement than physiotherapy advice for patients with chronic low back pain.
