About pt Health Return to Work Program

pt Health’s return to work program offers you an integrated approach to managing your injury and symptoms. Our approach is geared so that you can be allowed to return to your job. In most cases, patients work with various health care providers to get the care and attention they need to be rehabilitated.

Returning to work depends on many factors. These factors include your injury or illness, the support of your employer, your job duties, whether you can return to work on modified duties and many others. We will work with you to ensure that you can return to work as soon as possible. You may not return to work full-time in your regular duties right away. Our recommendations may include developing a graduated return to work plan where you work part of the time and participate in our work hardening program for a few hours per week.

Anyone who has an illness or injury that prevents a return to work would benefit from some form of rehabilitation. Please contact our clinic to arrange an appointment with a healthcare professional who can speak with you about your unique situation.

How Does it Work

Our clinicians are able to travel to remote locations for these assessments. In many cases your employer or Workplace Insurance Company or Board will pay for the assessments to assist you in returning to work safely.

pt Health offers:

  • WORK HARDENING & CONDITIONING

This 8-week program focuses on physical conditioning that addresses the issues of strength, endurance, flexibility, motor control and cardiac function. You may attend one of our clinics 2-4 times per week to rehabilitate you to the point where you are safe to return to the job.

  • OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Bracing offers two important benefits: joint alignment and load distribution. Braces help to shift and share the weight load from the affected part of the joint to the unaffected part. This helps in removing pressure on the affected joint area.

  • PHYSIOTHERAPY

Through the process of joint alignment, abnormal movement and pain are reduced and normal function begins to be restored. In the case of a knee brace, this helps people to walk or go up and down the stairs with ease.

  • CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT
  • NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE

Nutritional Counseling to aid in your health and recovery

  • THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
