PT Health Physiotherapist Receives Recognition Award From The University of Toronto

This award is offered, after careful consideration from the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto, to acknowledge the services and skills of physiotherapists who provide excellent learning environments, guidance, supervision and inspiration to physiotherapy students.

The November 2006 Convocation Award recipients included Darryl Yardley. The Academic Excellence Award is given to recognize the student in the graduating year who is ā€œmost likely to fulfill the role of an academic practitioner based on consistent distinction in clinical and research practiceā€.Ā  The Molly Verrier Award recognizes the graduating student who actively participates to advance the practice of Physical Therapy and empower their classmates, and has achieved high academic standing.

Yardley, graduating with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto is now a clinical instructor / facilitatorĀ at the University of Toronto and McMaster University, Departments of Physical Therapy. His dedication to the field of physical therapy encourages him to continue in studies of specialized training and advanced manual and manipulative therapy. Recently, Yardley authored a work in Physiotherapy Canada, published by the University of Toronto in October of 2008 that defined the opportunities of advanced practitioners and clinical specialists in the field of physiotherapy.
